Default Do you use full spectrum lighting?

If so, which brand do you prefer?

I have the Zoo Med AvianSun lamp with the 5.0 bulb and I love it — the birds live in a large flight cage, and this lamp allows me to correctly position the bulb above it. (Well, once I built a little stand. ) I have the lamp on a programmable timer so they have consistent light even when I'm not around to turn it on and off. It will never be quite the same as natural sunlight, but it's still beneficial, and my guys always give me a happy burst of song when it clicks on. :-)

I also have the Zoo Med and it is positioned above an F040 flight cage. I have two of those cages joined together and oddly enough when I turn on the light the birds move away from it into the adjoining cage. Seems odd to me because from what I know most people have the opposite experience and the birds are suppose to love it.

I have a full spectrum light bulb to light up my bedroom because it doesn't get much sunlight. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but it isn't hurting them?

Some of us buy bird-specific full spectrum light bulbs. They emit UVA and UVB, which is good for birds. The rating must be 5.0 instead of 10.0. (10.0 is for reptiles, but that's too strong for birds.)

Here's an example:
