Default Like others, I Too am confused about the sex of my birb

So, here's my bird: X. I bought her, thinking that she was a male (note: We have no budgies up for adoption in shelters here in good ol' Netherlands and that if you want one you should go to a hobby breeder. Well I got her from a pet shop still but I digress). So then I showed her to a friend of mine, who said: ''Aysegul my dear, your bird is a girl.'' I was like, ''How? Her ceres is obviously blue...'' She said: ''Well she's recessive pied though so ceres coloration doesn't really matter here. The whites of her eyes are visible, which recessive pied males don't have (or show under normal circumstances)''.

And I was like, ''Hmm... Okey, all right I trust u buddy''. And went on, having in mind that my budgie is a girl. But then other people came and said: ''Are you sure about her gender? Maybe you should consult Talkbudgies?''

And here I am (a couple months later after they suggested me to consult you guys).

Here you can see the whites of her eyes: X / X

So... what do you guys think?

Your friend was wrong. Your budgie is a gorgeous male, no doubt about that.
He is not recessive pied. He is a light green spangle budgie, I believe he is also opaline.

I agree. Looks like a lovely male.

Recessive pieds never develop iris rings regardless if male or female. Iris rings are an indicator of age, not gender.
With that being said, your boy is certainly not a recessive pied.

Well, he is
a) definitely not female
and
b) definitely not recessive pied
You have a beautiful light green spangle opaline boy! I agree, if you ever have any questions, the experts on here will be more than happy to help!
And he is very handsome, by the way.
