Every once in awhile Pheonix will walk up to Sunburst and flap his wings, smacking her in the face. Otherwise, they have no problems! They are eating from the same seed/pellet bowl, same fresh bowl, no issues with their watering tower. They even both stood still on the perch and ate from the same millet spray I was holding. It only happens when she is sitting on the top perch on the right side. I am wondering if he is just wanting his spot?? He isn't hurting her at all, just smacks her with his wings and yells at her.
For the rest of the time, they are sweet. I have noticed today that he has been feeding her! It looks kind of strange, he stretches tall and turns his head sideways and she sticks her beak in his mouth lol. They will sit and chirp softly and "talk" to each other, they don't play with the same toy at the same time but I figured that was pretty normal. Just want to make sure the wing smacking isn't a serious deal?
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.
maybe he is showing off for her? my guys haven't done this, but when i come home, Leon will extend his wings out and chirp!
I have 8 parakeets, a cat, a rabbit, 2 frogs, 2 newts, about 22 self cloning marbled crayfish, 7 fish tanks, and 2 bettas. my 9 'keets are beyond spoiled with my DIY toys and 2 big trees to play on
