Default did you know that parrot parents give their chicks individual names?

I found this super interesting presentation from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, about how parrot parents use distinct sounds to name their chicks.

Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move where you see fit.

I always wonder if my budgies gave me a bird name and if all three call me the same thing!

I did know that which is why I am convinced my budgies know their names that I've given them and know me by the name I've told them to call me which is 'mama'. I tap my chest and explain what I am about to do involving them ex. "Mama *tap chest* is going to lift the cage *motions lifting the cage* for cleaning! *repeat three times*" If I don't, they get frightened. If I do, they are 100% fine. When I call myself 'mama', they look at me, and/or come close to me, compared to if I just talk they might ignore me. If I say one of their names, the one I named will look at me directly and talk to me.
Birds are funny neat little creatures.

Those Mama codes are interesting and clever! I too am "Mama" and say "Mama loves you" or "Mama go Bye Bye"- never thought of the other ones although when I am about to take out their food bowls and replace with new food I'll put my hand near the bowl first. The video is really good!
