Sent one budgie to the vet today, getting two back.
My FIL just called to say that not only was my baby's tummy upset because he was simply getting used to some new veggies that didn't sit well with him, but also wanted to know if I would be willing to take in a little budgie that someone recently found.
Evidently, she's very wild and a bit older. I don't have much information, except that they can't locate an owner (though he thinks she's been out in the wild for a significant amount of time) and that there are likely some medical considerations thanks to her adventures in the great outdoors. Fortunately, he should be bringing her over tonight (with any luck, test results allowing) and making certain our arrangements will keep both birds as safe as they can reasonably be.
I'm setting up her new spot in quarantine right now, but I'm so excited that I had to tell you guys.
Oh wow, now that was a great vet appointment, your soon-to-be little budgie is very lucky to be coming to an awesome new forever home!
I hope all the tests come back clear and you will get the new little one very soon.
Be sure to keep us posted!
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
She's here now! She's in the corner of her cage, nice and safe. We don't know very much about her yet (actually, I haven't really seen her other than a quick glimpse to note that she's green and in condition), but we did put out word we have her in case someone reports her lost.
We'll hear more about her tomorrow. For tonight, she's safe and out of the cold with plenty of food and the medication she needs to recover from her ordeal.
The poor little thing is pretty scared, so we're giving her plenty of space. (And heaps of millet. We're hoping she'll feel brave enough to try some.) She got pretty excited when she heard Kosh's contact calls and she was answering in this soft, infinitely sweet voice. Kosh, on the other hand, isn't terribly interested yet.
