Lightbulb Echo Boy or Girl

Hi I'm new to the forum and a new budgie owner. I got Echo about a week ago and he/she is very vocal. The pet shop staff, were I got Echo told me they think he/she is a little boy. I think he/she is about 3 months old, because of a few baby stripe feathers that have yet to go from his/her first malt (they can't be seen in picture because the bars in the way), so any ideas what his/her gender is? I will really apriciate it.

This photo isn't very recent, it was taken only a few minutes after I put Echo into his/her new cage, I was quite far away from the cage. I don't believe that leaving a new bird alone for a few weeks when you get them is a good idea (but thats my opinion). I'll try and get a new photo that shows off the colours of his/her cere more so it's easier to determine his/her gender. I have read some of the other threads about sexing budgies but I'm still not sure.
This photo is more recent and I hope it helps.

Sorry I was hoping to get more topic relative answers here, there are lots of posts just telling me how cute Echo is (which I don't mind) on the other thread, and forgot to edit the other thread so it no-longer asks this question. I'll do it now.

Nicola,

Was your picture taken with a flash or in natural light?
Flash can wash out the cere making it more difficult to tell a budgie's gender.

Please take a look at the information in the link below:

Echo is beautiful! I agree that you should make sure the pictures are taken in natural light with no flash, but since you say Echo is a few months old already and doesn't have his baby bars I would say you have a gorgeous little boy

Natural light and no flash, I'm going to try and get a better photo.
