So I've decided to get Pippin a friend. She is a very timid girl and training and bonding with her is very slow but I love her a lot and will keep at it, she is getting there. The main reason with getting her a friend is that I am not at home as much as I would like to be as I work full time and I cannot bare leaving her that long in the day by herself, everyday I'm worrying about her. Also it may help with her coming out of her shell and to be more trusting of me and also to get her out of her cage! She doesn't even come to the front of the cage unless scared by something. Even speaking to her sometimes makes her shake
Anyways, there is a breeder that lives an hour away from me that has hand tame budgies, she says she has a little boy that would suit my needs and that he is ready at the weekend. I've got my cage ready for quarantining, read all the stickies I can, brought some fun toys for the baby to play with and a blankie so he feels all safe and snug in his new cage for when I get him home. I'm waiting to see a picture though just to make sure he looks well kept and in good condition. Hopefully I will be sharing a new addition this weekend! I hope so! I'm very excited
That's wonderful news, and given Pippin's shy personality she will benefit tremendously from having a little play buddy!!
Best of luck at the breeder's and feel free to post some pics after the little fellow is all settled in your home.
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
That is wonderful news!! I'm so excited for you and Pippin, I definitely agree that shyer budgies tend to benefit from a buddy
I can't wait to see him and I bet he's gorgeous. Congrats on the soon to be new arrival!
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
I think Pippin will be so happy once she has a friend. This forum helped so much in the decision. Plus she calls to downstairs budgies and it really is heart breaking. Photos will be all over the place, watch out you lot!
