This was the first time I had to put him in a time out. He's a smart little thing too... Even though he isn't hand tame, he obeys verbal commands such as "go home" and "in".
Tonight he flew INTO my Red Bellied parrot's cage! Something he'd never done before. I had to shoo him out quickly, only to have him return several seconds later to taunt Robin again! Very bad idea.. trust me. Twigs knew exactly what I was saying when I told him "Twigs, bad boy!" He turned his focus to me as I said it, and so instead of going in Robin's cage again, he went on the top of it! I still told him no, and shooed him off again, and so he then came back and flew UNDER Robin's cage lol! Finally, I told him he was a very bad boy, and he needs to just "go home" early tonight. He did... He knew he was bad! He's so cute I can't help but laugh too
Sammy does the same thing with my dog's food bowl (because it's stainless steel). He goes right for it when I forget to move it into the hallway, and when I say "no no, Sammy!" he gets even more into it. Rascally budgies!

Oh yeah, they're SMART!! I never knew budgies could be so smart and crafty until I had them myself . Yes, he understands verbal commands . Sometimes, if he's not ready for bed, it will take longer than usual to get him in his cage. He will 'pretend' to go home, then almost go in his door, then last minute when I get closer, he'll take off again! LOL
Silly Twigs, he's such a rascal! Mallorn does that often enough. They are crazy, crafty, insidious little things, aren't they? But no matter how many times Mallorn misbehaves, princesses will be princesses. And boys will be boys, and budgies...I guess budgies will be budgies, too
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
Budget loves to sneak into the other guys cage and do a raid of the food which is exactly the same as his, is they see him they are right back there and onto him LOL. At which point he comes flying to me for support!!
Twigs did the same thing last night. Went inside Robin's cage with Robin scrambling after him! Twigs clearly "tries" to provoke the parrots. He does stuff to all of them on purpose, and see how far he can push .
Today is moving day (for the budgies). They'll go into their double flight cage today (with the divider in place). This will be in a different room. Still a temporary spot, but Twigs gets into too much trouble with the parrots. If he's not trying to provoke them, he's raiding Raven's bowl and gobbling up his food until his crop is over bulging and not digesting right (for those who read that thread, he is doing just fine unless he gets to Raven's food and gorges himself. Like the vet said, I think that was the problem). He will get to do that no more!!
