Default why does my budgie love to be spoken or sang to?

iv noticed my budgie seems to really love it when i talk to her a lot or sing, i mean, i do talk to her a lot anyway through the day but what ive noticed lately is that she likes to sit on my hand and basically get her face as close as possible to mine and she will sit there looking fascinated while i talk 'in her face' lol

why does she like this? or is this a typical budgie trait

Some budgies (like mine) just love it when I sing to them, talk and just LOVE it when I play a soft song on my accoustic guitar.Does it know to talk?Because when my friend got a budgie she acted just like yours when she said her first words. But I guess its a great thing as we can bond with a bird over that.

Aww that's very sweet and it seems like your bird is developing a close bond with you, Carla. You should interact with her as often as you can which will secure your friendship.

Every budgie I've had seems to like to get as close as possible to my face when I talk to him.
Your budgie is accepting you as a flockmate by this close proximity and it is a means of bonding.

Mallorn does that too! She loves to see my lips when I talk and occasionally tries to nibble on my lips (a big no no!) She won't let me talk on the phone, either, I can talk to people that exist or her but she won't stand for "invisible" people over the phone
I agree that budgies love to be close to your mouth when you speak--they also want to be as close as can be to see how you form the words, since they love mimicry so much
