Princess Jakob has been in my home for about 6 months now, and she's flat out refused veggies, fruits, and berries. She nibbles on the dried bits in her seed mix, but more than anything she takes pleasure in bringing them to the edge of her play area so she can drop them on the floor
I'm determined to win, and she recently started eating egg food. Around that time she also had a nibble on some millet, so she's becoming more curious about food.
Anyway, she usually takes a bath every Saturday morning (she has access to it every single day, but that's when it tends to happen), and so I figured I'd put a few twigs of parsley in the water last Saturday, and ever since she's been coming back for more. I managed to capture it on video - she fell in and consequently had a bath mid week
Little Princess Jakob is a winner for sure! Mmm, parsley
Princess Mallorn would like to drop by and say that parsley is one of her favorites, too and she's glad that one of her fellow royals enjoys it as much as she does
Congrats on getting her to eat some greens, maybe she'll try some others now
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
@StarlingWings - it must be a royal thing with the parsley so
Anyway, I let herself out this morning. She flew to her playground as usual. Sat there singing for a bit, then eyed the opportunity to fly to some other "greens". Before I knew it, she was sitting in my big coffee plant and had to be moved along...
If you are trying to get your budgie more interested in eating veggies try serving them in unique ways instead of in a dish. Birds love to forage for food. Try hanging them from the top of the cage in a clip when still wet. If in a dish you can sprinkle with seeds. Also try using a shallow dish rather than one that is deep. Good luck.
