Default New Perches

Greyjoy's cage came with three of those uniform dowel perches. I know that one of the first things I wanted to do for him was upgrade those perches. After searching online and checking out all the options I decided I wanted to start with a natural muti branch at the top, a rope perch in the middle and a strait natural perch in the front (to make training and taming simple).

The best part is, before I got around to ordering these perches online or at petco/smart, I discovered a Parrot Store Only 15 minutes from my house! I went there earlier today and now Greyjoy has new perches.

If you are in WA here is the store I went to Parrot Toys Parrot Boarding Parrot Sitting Inca's Secret Kent, WA 253-437-1312

P.s. I also got a length of leather so I will be making some new toys soon.

Greyjoy looks adorable enjoying his new rope perch.
He's such a cute little boy.

Please just keep an eye on the rope to make sure Greyjoy doesn't chew it as ingesting cotton fibers can cause crop impaction.
(Some budgies like to chew on the ropes while others just sit and play on them. )

I'm excited to get started with toy making for him. I have been collecting bird safe items for almost a week, but I couldn't gind anything other then links to hold them together. The leather was the missing element.

Thank you thank you! I'm glad I didn't also get the rope swing. If this doesn't work out in his cage I can just use it for (eventual) out of cage time. If I had the swing too and it didn't work out I'd be a little disappointed. I wanted a rope perch so that I could change the arrangement without taking it out all the way.

Hi.. I live in Eastern Washington... and thanks for linking this resource. Even though it's over 200 miles from me, it has great links/resources !! I was able to confirm we have NO certified avian vets on this side of the state, other than the Veterinary Medicine school at WSU in Pullman.
Looks like an awesome place.
I love your perches... I love setting up and redecorating my cages!!

I am so glad it helped. If you make it to this side of the sate, you know where to stop. I'm not surprised there aren't too many resources in Eastern WA, though.
