The budgies, Lemon and Sweetie, are basically my pets. I feed them, care for them, take them to the vet, set up their music, basically if it involves the birds in any way, I'm the one who does it. Generally speaking the cats are my husband's domain, and he's not bad to the birds, he just generally isn't involved too much other than chatting with them once in a while and covering/uncovering them for me if I have to be at work after/before bedtime. I certainly don't think he sings them awake or asleep like I do, but I digress. I am the one the budgies know and trust, the others in the house are just there.
Today the bebes were out and about, I was cleaning their cage and my husband was sitting in my chair where I usually am, picking music as we were having a lovely discussion on the career of David Bowie when out of no where Sweetie comes and lands on his shoulder! This is a big moment, Sweetie has never even walked on my husband's arms (last physical contact Sweetie bit my husband and when he told Sweetie that was a rotten thing to do Sweetie immediately pipped up with "I'm a baby bird!!"). Husband and I were sitting very still and I told Sweetie he was such a good boy (I was across the room).
Then. THEN! LEMON!!! came and landed on my husband's shoulder too!!! Lemon, my overly cautious budgie of sass, and sat on his shoulder for a good few moments after Sweetie flew off.
Needless to say, I was quite pleased. My husband immediately started making Birdman references, hahahahahaha
