Default Is it possible for them to live together?

I would like to move my newer budgies into the F40 cage that I have but I'm worried about personality clashes. One of my female budgies, Sierra is very dominant and aggressive while the other, Skylar is nervous and very submissive. Right now, I have a male with Sierra and one with Skylar. I don't see the males as having an issue living together or with Sierra but I'm worried about Skylar. Skylar is also quite a bit smaller than Sierra. Sierra also seems to get enjoyment out of pushing the male she is with off perches and guarding her favorite food dish. I'm not sure she likes anything except for millet .

Is it possible for a small and submissive female to live in the same cage as a big and dominant female? Sierra wants to be the dominant one and can be a bully for no apparent reason. Is it possible that she would kill or hurt Skylar or would she get used to her and simply ignore her? I know that they would probably never get along because Sierra seems to hate everything except for millet. I would like to have them in the big cage instead of the small one I used for quarantine so they can have more exercise throughout the day. I have tried to introduce them outside the cages but Sierra will not come out...

The males got into a screaming match and beaked each other before separating to sing together then ignore each other but Sierra is a different story. My mom thinks that putting them together will ruin the bond between Skylar and the male she is with and the Sierra will make them mean. Skylar really needs a buddy for courage so we don't want them to loose their bond

Hard to say. The F040 is a nice size, so a territorial female should be less of a problem. If it were me, I would put the two boys and skylar together in the F040 for awhile first and see how that goes for a few day's. If everything goes well with the three maybe you can try and add sierra and closely monitor the situation...really it is hard to predict, you have a balance with two of each, all you can do is try it...

Elena,

Since Skylar is small and submissive, I personally would not want to risk putting her in with Sienna. Sienna will bully her and may possibly hurt her. As Sienna is a very aggressive and dominant female, and also territorial from how you've described her interactions with the male she is currently caged with, will view Skylar as weak, vulnerable and easy prey.

I personally would keep Skylar and the male whe is currently housed with her separated from Sienna and the other male.

If the cage Skylar and the male are in currently is too small, I suggest investing in a larger cage.
I have FOUR of the Prevue Hendryx F040 cages in my 9x12 bedroom along with my queen size bed, night table and a chair.
Granted, I move cages about frequently, but it's workable if you are willing to make the effort.
I don't have more than 2 birds in any one of my flight cages and I have a fifth F040 downstairs in my living room for Skipper and Scooter.

That's a good suggestion... the three have gotten along pretty well in the past. Just a bit of figuring out who's who in the pecking order.

That's a lot of cages! It gives me ideas though; found a breeder near me who sells hand-fed birds.

It's small, it meets a minimum but I think it's far too small for two. They are happy enough but they would be much happier with more room. What bird wouldn't? I have the room so I should probably stop being cheap and start stocking up on perches now. I guess I will just have to get another cage if they don't get along...
