Default ? on how to clip fresh foods to cage bars

My budgie, Tico the Tiki bird or Tico for short will not eat cilantro on a plate. The only way he will eat it is if it is hanging from the cage bars. Is it safe to use a plastic potato chip bag clip to hang it? I haven't found a bird specific product for this situation.

They sell millet clips. They're usually metal, but I had some plastic ones from a long time ago and I wish I could find them now. They're like this. https://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...fm?pcatid=6039 I'm not sure if a pet store will sell them, but a bird store would (if you have any near you). Or, you can look online, as you can see Dr. Foster and Smith sells it. OR... pet stores have millet spray hangers like this that might work for cilantro since it's long shaped. Yes, using a plastic potato chip bag clip is fine.
You can also use a plastic clothes pin or a wooden clothes pin to hold the cilantro.

Be very careful using metal clips unless you are sure they are made of stainless steel.
Budgies chewing or licking metal can lead to heavy metal poisoning.

Tell the person at a pet food store exactly what you are looking for. They will know the right size clips to sell you. It will be easy to get.

As long as there aren't any rusted metal or reachable metal parts, yes, it is safe. Parsley is a favorite of my little girl too! Glad they know how to eat their greens!

The metal isn't reachable on the chip clip. I like the treat holder clip and will order one when I put in my next Amazon order in the next few days. Pet stores are an hour drive from my home and I have a child with a physical disability so getting out isn't easy. My back still aches from having to lift him and his wheelchair in and out of the SUV today during our weekly grocery shopping trip.
