Default Moms Bird?

A lady recently gave my mom her 3 year old budgie and we'd like to know if she's actually a female? The lady that owned her bought her as a baby and was told she was a female.
Since her cere is not the normal blue for boy or tan for girl I have no clue.
Her name is Daisy so we kinda hope she is a female.

Photos were taken outside in natural light with no flash.

I'm seeing an overall pinkish cere, so Daisy is in fact a very gorgeous boy!
He must have recessive pied genes mixed in, since his cere has maintained the immature pinkish colour and his eyes are also fully black despite already being an adult.

I think Daisy is a boy because of the purplish cere. It's a very cute bird!

You're welcome! I'm on the same boat as you, I have a male lovebird called Khaleesi, I thought he was a she for the first 5 months of his life. It was too late to change the name because by that time he already responded to his name.

What a very handsome boy he is! I think Daisy is fine for a boy's name! Many budgie owners seem to use a lot of licence with names!! I'm sure Daisy likes his name too!

I'm sure he loves his name and since he's been called Daisy for 3 years now I don't think it would be a very good idea to up and change it on him.

Daisy is a gorgeous name for your handsome little man!! Boys never get the flower names, I don't think that's quite fair

I agree with aluz, the cere is still an immature color and eyes are black indicating recessive pied genes I would say he's dominant and recesive pied!

Daisy is lovely

Same here! Maybe Daisy could be close buds with my baby girl, Harry. We now call her Harriet for certain reasons (specifically because she is a mother right now and her husband is named Jerry. What reactions you would get if you said your budgie was laying eggs and its name is Harry! )
