Default Question about budgie markings

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone out there can help me with identifying my budgie's markings? I've had Pearl for a year and have never been able to figure out what 'category' she falls into regarding her markings/colour. I thought at first she was a fallow or a lacewing but I'm just not sure. I've had a lacewing before but his markings weren't as dark as Pearl's and he was pure white apart from his light brown markings. Pearl has a light grey body with very dark brown markings. She also has pink feet but she doesn't have red eyes. I've attached a few pics. Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks

I have no idea, but she is a beautiful hen, you must be very pleased with her. Quite a few people here will be able to help you with this, please be patient because of the different time lines. Welcome to Talkbudgies by the way!

Welcome to the forums, Amanda!
Your Pearl has opaline markings. From the pics she appears to be a grey opaline budgie. The pink feet can mean that Pearl is hiding pied genes, recessive pied genes that make her feet have the pink colour.

Thanks so much for your replies - it's been puzzling me for ages, I think it was the pink feet that was throwing me off, I do love her little pink feet though.

Little Pearl is very pretty, she's definitely a grey opaline although sometimes her particular shade of pale grey looks like a Texas Clearbody.

Gorgeous girl!

Thank you :-) she reminds me quite a lot of one of my other budgies I had especially the little shifty looks I get when she's in a bad mood (which is a lot at the moment as she is moulting).
