Default Two new arrivals!!

Sorry in advance for the terrible phone pictures. My computer harddrive crashed and rendered it inoperable so I'm doing everything from my phone now.

Anyways! The bird expo is today and I bought myself a couple new birds! Still trying to think of some names so suggestions are much appreciated!!

Both are about 2 years old so they're perfect for what I'm planning! They were chosen from different vendors to ensure they were not related. Unfortunately I only had one carrier cage so was not able to quarantine them from each other, but they are completely quarantined away from Opal. ^^

Here are some pics!

Female: Opaline violet cobalt?

Male: opaline grey

The male is quite frightened and is staying stock still on the rope perch. The female was actually super chill about me picking her up out of the carrier, I was surprised! She didn't struggle or bite.

Congratulations on your new budgie couple!
To me the female's colour seem to be too dark for cobalt, even despite the opaline trait that dilutes the overall body colour a bit.
In my opinion, she looks more like a mauve violet opaline.
Best of luck with the name choosing!

Thank you guys! ^^

Yeah shes a little confusing to me, but she's definitely violet! When I was looking at her in the expo, she was super purple compared to the other budgies.

They are beautiful, Krystal! They are absolutely stunning. The female is a mauve violet opaline, I agree with Aluz. Cobalt would be bluer and more pale, as mentioned. She could even be double factor, actually.
The other is a grey opaline, so you're right

As for names, I have a few suggestions

I think Fiala (means violet in Czech), Cassia, Georgianna, Harper, Saffron (the flower is actually purple) and Zaire are all fitting names for your little purple lady

The grey looks like Tallin, Quintus, Kestrel, Figaro, Kovar or Sterling

Hope this helps, please keep us posted on what you decide! Can't wait to see more of them!

Thank you for the suggestions! I'll keep them in mind and let you guys know what I eventually end up naming them!

I agree, looking at her now I think she's a mauve violet opaline. She might even be a violet grey as her tail feathers look black to me but it could just be the lighting. XD

Krystal,

Your new budgies are gorgeous!

I would name the female "Violet" and the male "Dusty".
