Hey all. Just a few questions I have had jango a few weeks he's a colbalt cock budgie he seemed to settle in quite quick sitting on my finger after 4-5 days flying around getting on my shoulder and sitting doing the step up when said! But the last 3 days all he's done is sat on he's perches eating and drinking. He cherps now and again but not oftern. Is there something wrong with him when I try to get him out he's hopping of my finger straight back in hes cage! He was ok before a few days ago.. he ain't registered at a vet yet.

Jango in he's cage

And another

It's always a good idea to have an Avian Vet check-up when you get a new budgie. Since you've had Jango for a few weeks now, I would suggest you take him in for a wellness check.

I agree with Deb that a wellness check-up is a good idea. Also, he may have settled in enough to his new cage that now he considers it his "home" and doesn't want to leave it.

However, he may also be getting sick, and although he may well be fine, a vet check up is a good idea

Your little boy is starting to realise his cage is his safety and the big outside the cage is not. Have you got a perch on the outside of his cage near the door? This is a good coaxing out tool as well as hanging a piece of millet just near there as well.
getting him used to an avian vet and traveling is also a great idea.
Wellness check ups are done in my house around every six months, of course if something is not right or I feel anxious it is sooner. Hope all is well and he settles soon. Please let us know how the vet check goes
