Default Budgie seems to be quiet in mornings

Hello

I have had BooBoo for about three days now. He is starting to eat now which is great. Yesterday he was very active. I notice it takes him about a while to get going in the mornings. When I take the towel off his cage he stays on his perch still happy to sleep. He has been like this for an hour now. Is this usual behaviour for a budgie to take his time to get going in the morning? Thank you in advance of your reply

Clouds is always quiet for a while after we move him from the bedroom he shares with our son. Most of the time he perks up and sings when the sun hits his cage, but sometimes he takes longer to wake up. This morning for example, it seemed to take him forever to start moving and he didn't eat for a good hour.
I guess they are just like us: not machines. As much as they may love their little routines, every day is different

Having said all this, still keep an eye on him just in case. Have you booked him for an avian vet check up yet?

I'm sure our more experienced members will be along with proper advice soon.

Since you have only had your budgie for 3 days, it's perfectly normal behaviour for him to be acting quiet and still. It takes time for budgies to settle into a new home. As your BooBoo gets more comfortable in his new surroundings, he will start to perk up more, his activity levels will increase and so will his curiosity as he begins to fully explore his cage and play with his toys.

Ah thank you.
Do I need to take him for an Avian check up since I have just bought him? I thinking booking one after his first year but perhaps I am wrong.

Many thanks
