he hates baths and when i kiss his beak he just leans backwards steps away from my face and then shake his head and make an angry chirp... Baylee my lovie is so different she loves baths and kissing me.
I want some advice on how to make the little dude like baths i found a way to get him to like veggies & fruits besides seeds. He only wants them with oats or oatmeal if i serve them without oats or oatmeal he simply wont touch it. Yesterday i served him fig with oatmeal and he ate it all...
As for baths he just dont want nothing that have involved he does drink from his bowl but doesnt bath at all... and when i spray him he just wants to run away i have tried several things and nothing worked. The running water my lovie goes crazy with water running. I tried that he ignored, then tried spray he wants nothing with it. Oh he got the misconception that he got to bath in his seed bowl o.o is this normal? I tried placing water in it and switching bowls. He just did it in the other bowl where the seeds were and only drinked water. O.O i feel a little bit frustrated! with the bath thing.
Please guys give me more ideas to help him get used to showers.

I have a 6 year old boy who is very hard to get OUT of the water. His best mate, same age, would do anything to avoid baths let alone showers. I think budgies are just like us humans: personalities and tastes vary greatly. Maybe Dylan will learn to like baths next summer, maybe that will never be his thing. Don't let it frustrate you

Not all budgies like bathing but some that don't will learn to try it over time.

I'd recommend taking a shallow dish of water and float a basil leaf or two in it.
Splash your fingers in the water and make "happy noises" as you do so -- that might make him more interested in seeing if the water is something fun.

You can also hang wet kale or romaine lettuce leaves in his cage.
Some budgies like to rub their bodies on the wet leaves to "bathe".

In general though, you don't need to worry about him bathing or showering as he is cleaning his feathers himself when he preens them.

Maria,

Dylan is adorable.

Please don't make him have "showers" by misting or spraying him if he doesn't like it.
As I said, he cleans his feathers himself when he preens them.

He's perfect just the way he is!

On the left pictures in the collage it shows how he looked when i got him and on the right it was 10 days later! His mom attacked him, pushed him out of the nest and refused to feed him. and pulled his wing feathers and some neck feathers she is a bad mom also she killed his two younger siblings

Hopefully all Dylan's misfortunes are now in the past and we don't need to revisit them as dwelling on negative thoughts does no one any good.

Let's just all focus on how well Dylan looks now, how much you love him and what a wonderful life he's going to have - OK?
