Hi guys! Long time no see.
Anyhow, I've come with a story to tell. Just another story to prove that you must give your birds the right bells! Just to clearify before hand, no one died but it very well could have ended that way :[
I was out of the room and I notice how unusual things were? A lot of banging around for someone to be paying. Any how, i went in there and Doll was acting very frantic attacking his mirror bell. I knew this wasnt normal so i ran over and sure enough! His beak had been stuck, wedged into the cheaply made bell.
I didn't know what to do, so a held him so he would stop flying around possibly hurting his neck or jaws. It was hopelessly jammed inside the metal so i tried calming him down to get a closer look. Im not even sure how he managed to do it. I called out for my dad so we found get him to the vet. I didn't want to hurt him by pulling on his head but i very gently rocked the bell until it came off. He was free and i wad just so glad. We had not been hurt thank god but his beak had been slightly damaged, nothing major though. I put his down to make sure he hadnt give into shock or anything and he seems to be ffine <: he was playing just a minute ago. I gave him lots of kisses and love and he is alright!
I took the bell off and modified the miror so there is not place for toes or beaks to get stuck :c poor boy
Replace your cheap bells with good safe ones! If they rust, the ringer inside can be removed or it has a strange top like this, GET IT OUT! better safe than sorry!
