Default Budgies in corner

We just got 2 new budgies about 2 weeks ago, and the last couple of days we've caught them in the top corner of the cage hanging on the sides a few times and they just stay there for a while. They never did this until just a couple days ago. Could there be something spooking them? They both do it at the same time. When I see them I have looked and looked around but cannot find anything out of the ordinary.

Hello and welcome, have they got a swing or perch up high in the cage? Budgies like to hang from the cage bars occasionally. But if they are doing it all the time then I would be concerned as well.
They like to go to the highest point for safety and feel calm. Do you have the cage covered on three sides, this I a huge help a well.

Hello and welcome to the forums. This sounds like normal behaviour for young budgies to me. Cathy's advice on covering 3 sides of the cage is always a winner in the settling in process - it does have a powerful calming effect on youngsters in a new environment. Looking forward to seeing some pics!

Hello and to Talk Budgies!

If your budgies are still very young, this is normal behavior and they will grow out of it. If not, they could be scared or ill, and I would keep an eye on them As they settle in, they'll act more "normal".

I hope to see pictures of your budgies when you get the chance! Feel free to ask about anything you're unsure of, we'd love to help
