Default Sexing my two babies

Hello-

I need help on sexing my two budgies.

Darker blue one is just going through its first molt (purchased in April)

Lighter blue we just purchased a week ago.

Any specific name for their color?

As you can see they get along great!

Thanks for your assistance!

Welcome to the forums!
Your darker blue budgie is a boy and the lighter one is a girl, they make a beautiful couple!
The boy is a cobalt blue clearflight pied budgie. Does he have a yellow face? It's difficult to tell from the photos.
The girl appears to be a sky blue greywing spangle.

You should have quarantined your new girl in order to prevent any possible illness to be spread to your boy.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes the darker blue does have a yellow face.

Yes, unfortunately, I didn't know about quarantining until after I had put them together. I did purchase them from the same place so hopefully there will be no issues to come.

Thank you!!!

We did name them - the darker one is Mertle (thought it was a girl) and the lighter one is Timmy (thought it was a boy) asked the kids if they wanted to switch their names and they don't

All of these articles are very helpful!
