Default Worried first time budgie Mom

Hi all,

I'm beginning to sound like a neurotic first time mother so please bear with me.

This is mostly for the single budgie moms and dads out there:

Whenever I'm leaving for work I tend to play music or bird sounds for my birdie…however whenever its an exclusive "budgie sounds" clip he gets SOOOO excited, he leaves his toys and flies to the front of the cage and tries to get out and keeps chirping all the way, it kinda breaks my heart to see him (I'm already thinking of getting him a mate)…is this making it worse for him? Should I not play those sounds for him when I'm not here?

Thanks!

Jenny,
The budgie sounds are exciting to your little fellow because he thinks there are other budgies nearby.
Given the reaction he has, I would not advise that you continue to play them when you leave the house.
Hearing the sounds and not being able to see or get too his potential "new friends" is stressful and disappointing for your baby.

I'd suggest you stick with music to keep him company when you are away.

[SIZE="4"]I agree with Deb. If you have some nice music that you could play that would be much better than budgie sounds as your budgie will bond with the budgie sounds and not you... Do you have some nice music you could play for him.... When you are home you can talk to him and start to bond with your little budgie... What is his name ?[SIZE]
