Default Taming technique, keeps biting?

I have a male adult budgie called Ollie that is already quite tame. I am try ing this taming technique : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSHYrwxM-zY
and it is working very well (he is going on the perch) but he keeps biting it and tugging on it? also he chirps really loud whenever I get the perch out and he runs to it? Is he angry or excited? Im so confused :L

Thanks for your help!

If he is chirping loudly and running toward the perch, my guess is that he is trying to show his dominance over it and chase it away.

I'd suggest you look at some of the techniques for training shown in the Training and Bonding section of the forum
