Default wondering if my new bird is drinking

It has been one week since we brought home our new parakeet. Luke is so quiet. I have seen him eating, but never saw him drink his water. Should I be concerned?

Budgies can be very discreet about their drinking. I have bird's I see drink regularly, and bird's I have rarely or never seen. Budgies don't need much water, and also get a bit of moisture from their food's. I wouldn't be alarmed at all, especially if your bird seem's healthy and it's dropping's look normal...

I agree with Randy regarding your bird's drinking.

Sitting by Luke's cage and talking, reading and singing to him will help him feel more comfortable and learn to trust you.
Play music for him when you can't be with him so he doesn't feel alone.

Budgies are sneaky little ninja's when it comes to drinking, as long as all looks normal never fear, mine took close to 2 weeks before he drank in front of me
