Default Baby Raptor help

Hello I'm new in here I've being reading a lot of the articles and all of them are so useful, its not my first time with birds when I was around 13 got my first bird a beautiful white Budgie and was my best friend he was always with me in my shoulder, flying around and messing everything then I got a Cockatiel she was lovely and beautiful and then another but I was always in bad luck my budgie called "Blanquito" died after some years I guess he got sick and then my Cockatiel flew away when someone left the cage open even duh she was hand feed and tamed and loved to be with us 24/7 she never came back and now I'm afraid that I wont be able to bond with my new baby and I really want him to love me as much as I do but i cant remember if I'm doing it right or wrong, I bought my Budgie 3 days ago its called Raptor baby Raptor, from a street market I wanted to give him loving home instead of being in a small cage, they told me its a male and 4 months old, I choose him because looked like the youngest and was very active, at the beginning I hesitate when I saw he was the most nervous of the group but he is cool, he make me fall for him completely in this 3 days, I have a couple of question and worries:

Main concern is that i can see a line in his chest and belly with no hair when he is making some movements like no feathers in a precise line is that normal?

1)I know its only 3 days and probably I should be happy and I am that he let me rub his belly and feet and he doesn't freak out when I take him out of the cage he stays on top of the cage but he wont come close to my hand.

2)How old is really and if is Raptor actually a he.

3)He is constantly biting the plastic feed basket(were i put the food) and the cage a little but the doesn't play with the toys i bought is that normal is he ok or is just his personality is he going to harm his peak?, also he do this weird thing that he while standing on the stick he puts his head under the stick pretty weird and also the same in every single corner or position he can he do this when he is really happy moving around the cage talking and hanging from the stick with just one feet also, all of this you think its just joy or is something wrong?

4) And he wont eat anything but the seed any tricks I could use I have offered him fruits, the biscuits for budgies but nothing.

I really love him and want to do everything I can to make him happy, healthy and gain his trust so if you could share any similar experience or any ideas about this questions, thank you very much.

5)Almost forgetting he is mostly white but i think he is turning blueish? with some strips on the head any clue how is he going to become not like something will change just curious

Thank you very very much from Me and Baby Raptor we are sorry for the long post.

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your new budgie!
By looking at Baby Raptor, I'd also say she is 4 months old by looking at her overall condition. The feathers look a bit scruffed because she moulting and regarding the line in the middle going in the stomach that's normal, it's just the way the feathers align themselves.
She appears to be a sky blue dilute budgie.
From those photos I'm seeing a very pale and overall whitish cere making me believe your budgie is a young female.

Budgies naturally like to chew and their beaks are very strong, so you don't need to worry about her beak getting damaged when chewing on the plastic. Since your Baby Raptor is into chewing, you can get her some chew toys made out of wood to satisfy her chewing needs.
As she settles in more, she will most likely start to explore her cage and begin playing with the toys.

Regarding training, it's best to start slow and to begin by building your budgie's trust in you and you can do so by spending time with Baby Raptor and sitting close to the cage for the first couple of weeks and talking/reading to her in a soothing, positive and encouraging way. This will be helpful later on as she will get used to your presence and voice and realize you are not a threat. There is a lot of info on the stickies at the Training and Bonding section of Talk Budgies, so be sure to take a look if you haven't done so already.

Good luck with everything!

Smile Baby Raptor

Hi Welcome to TB. Dilutes are among my very favorite budgies. Take a look at the diet section Here on TB and Lindseys Cute little birdies aviary. It is not easy to encourage budgies to expand their diet selections. This is a young bird so it should be a little more flexible. Budgies need a varied diet. that includes fresh fruits and veggies, egg food/soft food, basic seeds:canary, millets, oatgroats. Add 10% or less of the oil rich fancy finch seeds, pellets. and sprouts. Ther are several good pellet brands Roudybush adult maintenance nibbles Zupreem get the canary size pellets, naturals or fruit flavors,Harrisons and nutriberries is good for transition to pellets or when budgies are sick.
Soluvite D vits by vetafarm is good to catch any holes in the budgies diet. Also Start your Budgie first aid kit. See Good suggestions in first aid section here on TB. Windy city parrot Also has good items for your kit . Purchase only what tools you can actually use . Be sure to have multiple cuttle bone , manu rose , kabobs, millet spray to encourage a busy beak as budgies express by chewing. Natural perches are good for chewing and exercise for the feet. Enjoy your adventure with Raptor,
Blessings, Jo Ann

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Ana, Deb, and JoAnn have given great advice regarding diet and habits However, I'm going to muddy the water by saying that I think Raptor is a boy. In the first picture, the cere does look whitish, which would mean female, but in all the others, with proper lighting, the cere looks pink Does his cere look more pinkish in real life or more white?

Your little budgie is stunning and I can't wait to see more of baby Raptor! Feel free to ask about anything else you may be wondering about

Thank you very much everyone, me and Baby Raptor really appreciate your answer they were very helpful and specially for me to be more calm and be better for him, I was reading and since you ask I think its male because the cere its very pinkish and looks like the colour is changing, tomorrow ill take picture and post it for know Raptor is sleeping so I don't wanna disturb him yesterday he got a night fright I talked to him and then he sleep all night again and today was a very active day I'm happy looks like he is communicating with me more and he is getting use to his new home, moving all around his cage doing this weird postures he do and biting everything some time both at the same time, he is like a spider-bird loves to hang from 1 leg too, then I think he asked me to fly around the room, he start flapping the wings in this cage while shouting at me, so I use one of the sticks of the cage to take him out I don't want to rush to use my finger and then he flew all around he is becoming quite a good flyer very fast and agile, and now that I check everything before going to sleep looks like he was busy using his cuttlebone for the first time and of course not with out some tummy and feet scratch that I think he is starting to like, he stays calm with my hand in the cage and then I give him some scratching and he remains very still and don't move just looks at me or my hand when i scratch his back.
