Post In-cage shelf ideas?

I recently received a MASSIVE bird cage. So heres the problem, Im stayng at my grandmas this summer and i cant let the budgies out of their cage becuase of my grandmas two dogs. Their cage could fit two of me in it, and stands maybe five feet tall so im not real worried their gonna be very cramped or sad in there. The thing is i have nothing to set their birdy bath on becuase i obviously cant use the top of the cage, and they wont ever go to the floor of the cage. I need some DIY ideas for a little shelf or something i can put their bird bath on in the cage. Thanks!

I have seen corner shelves that are offered in various sizes for bird cages. Let me do some hunting and pecking, maybe I can find a link...

Here's one...
Amazon.com: Prevue Hendryx 3100B Cage Corner Shelf, Black: Pet Supplies Amazon.com: Prevue Hendryx 3100B Cage Corner Shelf, Black: Pet Supplies

There are wood ones out there, plastic..lot's of choices...

Well, if your handy with a saw and drill, a nice piece of pine is pretty cheap. Cut it so it sticks through the bars a little bit for support, and ty rap it. Make sure if you cut the ty rap excess off, you leave no sharp edges...

I have a couple of these.
They are great and very inexpensive.
Bird Cage Accessory Perch: Prevue Pet Products Wood Corner Shelf

Additionally, they wouldn't be hard to make if you already have the parts.

Otherwise, buying the parts would probably cost just as much as the corner perch.

We'd love to see a picture of your cage set-up.

you can get double ended screws really cheaply at the hardware store, one end for wood, the other to put a wingnut on. a couple of washers, done.

(I mean, with the piece of pine shelving or bird safe twig!)

I have a few floating around, from before life kicking me in the shins... A couple of bucks you should be in business.
