Default Swings and Related Inquiries

Hello to everyone!

I have a few things to say, and only one thing to ask:
So, I made Mallorn a little swing! I had a lot of random plastic tubes I collected from some old violin cases, and from part of one, I decided to make her a swing. The others I'm making into a very royal playgym (more on that later!). Anyways, I used a razor blade to deeply score the plastic tube, I snapped it along the line with a clean break, I drilled holes in the ends and threaded it through with stainless steel wire and beads. I wrapped the perch part in vet wrap (pink spotted, of course ) so she wouldn't slip.

It's quite lovely, if I do say so myself!

Well, here's the conundrum: The wire I bought was memory wire, so it was impossible to bend it to the right shape and took the better part of three hours.
I want to make a few more swings with leftover wire, but I returned the other wire because it was so hard to use! Instead, I looked for stainless steel wrapping wire, but none of the craft stores in my area carry it. I exchanged it for some aluminum wire, but haven't used it yet.

I have looked it up and that's why I got it, but I wanted to ask you all before proceeding: Is aluminum safe for budgies? Thank you all, as always

Here's a bonus picture of the happy little princess:

The swing you made for Princess Mallorn is adorable and she looks quite pleased with her beautiful new "throne".

Aluminum wire should be fine as long as it is not anodized aluminum.
The anodizing process involves zinc which is a major cause of heavy metal toxicity.
Anodized aluminum would not be safe for a budgie to lick or chew.

Thank you, Deb!

How can you tell if it is anodized? Would the manufacturing site tell me?
