After Tweety's passing, Percy has been extremely depressed. He has not eaten or drunk anything, he simply sat on his perch and did nothing, his usual squawking absent. As much as I dislike to buy a budgie so soon after Tweety's death, I had no choice as Percy is a social bird who needs constant attention that I sometimes cannot provide.
After a trip to a trusted breeder, I simply fell 'Love at first sight' with a newly fledged little boy, and was able to purchase him. Even though a forty day quarantine is highly suggested on this sight, this little boy was well looked after, being treated for lice, mites and worms, and I have never had any trouble with this breeder; his birds are treated like royalty and the aviary is awfully clean.
Percy was slowly introduced to the new boy and has already become great friends, his personality once again becoming perky and loud. This little boy has not yet been named, but I like the idea of 'Pixel,' 'Neon (Neo).' or 'Beau,'. Name suggestions are well appreciated, but keep in mind this is an awfully shy and dopey bird, simply adorable in my eyes. He wasn't hand tamed but I needn't do anything; he is so friendly and gentle that he isn't fazed by my hands at all, and has already learnt the step up trick.
Once again, name suggestions are appreciated! (Photos located below)
Hello and congratulations on the adoption. There was absolutely no reason to keep Percy in his lonely misery any longer and you did the right thing.
We seem to have the same pair of budgies! Our English grey looks exactly like Percy and is named Clouds. His new companion is a spitting image of your newlbie and is named Sky.
My 6 year-old is in charge of the naming of pets in our house.
I may be influenced by our own theme but his beautiful yellow face makes me think 'Sunny'.
Whatever you choose to call him, he's a real beauty
