Default I thought boy... what do you think?

hi, these are Charlie (right) and Blue (left). I got them last week and was told they were both male and are 5-6 weeks old. Someone has said that Blue, the bird on the left, could be female? what do you think?
If he is a she will I need to separate them?

I agree that the chick on the left is a girl and Blue is a boy.
You shouldn't have problems housing them together as long as you do not give them anything that would encourage them to want to mate and raise a family and that includes not allowing them to have hiding spots nor anything that they could potentially use as a nest.

EDIT: I got the names of your chicks wrong while reading your post. The budgie on the left is a girl (Blue), the one on the right is a boy (Charlie).

I agree, the budgie on the left is a girl and on the right is a boy. They're adorable!
There's an article on the forum for keeping your budgies from laying eggs, though you won't have to worry about that until you're older, anyways.

I too am wondering what is going on with their beaks, lovely looking babies but the beaks look rough and not smooth and shiny like they should be .
