Default Is Trix a He?

I was sure he was a she, but the knowledgeable folks here said that she looked like a he. I assumed it was just to early to tell, Trix is a pretty young bird. But I am still unsure. She/he has, to me, very clear white rings around the nares. On the other hand He/She is coloring up to be pretty blueish purple.

I'm throwing in a picture of Trix with Greyjoy for the color comparison.

If Trix is in fact male, I'd love the extended version of how you can tell???

If you are talking about the green budgie Trixi I think your budgie maybe a boy... I am no expert but I have learnt how to tell the gender..

For a boy you have to have a purplish Blue Cere. For a Female a pale blue with white around the cere then when the female gets older her cere turns to Brown...

I am only guessing but there are other people here that have experience at this... But I am guessing that he is a boy i think..

The green budgie (Trix) is most likely a female, because when females are not in breeding condition, their ceres turn sky blue and white, or tan instead of the brown that indicates breeding condition. If budgies are young, in females the cere will also usually be sky blue and whiteish (like trix's). The cere is not a dark blue, so Trix probably isn't male. (In young males the cere is usually a purple-pink, but her cere is not that either)
I could be wrong, but as I said (like, a hundred times already ) Trix DOES look like a girl to me

I know two things: 1) Trix is a girl, and 2) Trix is ADORABLE!

We have two for female and one for male.

I am also in the female camp. However I've been given enough reason to doubt that I'm not sure I'll believe it until she comes into condition.

ETA: part of my shadow of a doubt is that she is so spunky and vocal, things I associate more with male budgies.

I am almost 100% that Trix is a boy.

Although his cere is blue with white, it is a very dark blue for a female out of breeding condition. Female ceres are never that blue, they are paler. Also, it isn't unusual for a male's cere to change before his first moult, I've seen it happen before.

Were the pictures taken in natural light?

He's so cute

I trust you Star! So now I'm in a pickle, because "he" is breaking rules... and I don't yet understand the exceptions.
What I think I am understanding is that age is playing a big factor.

At what age should it be too obvious to ignore?

Goodness, this must be confusing

Well, if Trix starts his first moult and his cere is still that same colour (about four months old) then he is definitely male. Is there any brown or tan at all?

I am usually rubbish at this, but I think Trix is a girl. My Sooty's cere looked like this when she was very young but now it has turned chalky blue and has white rings. We knew she had to be a girl though because of her breeding.
