Default Structuring a budgie flock?

Hi there, i currently have 3 budgies. a male and female in one cage, and a another female in a seperate cage. I'm hoping to get the lonely female a male friend in december/january.

Each cage gets their own out of cage time, however, I have noticed that the budgies seem quite interested in eachother. I was wondering if it's a good idea to see how they all go being outside their cages together, or is it better to just have bonded pairs out together? I'm concerned about the two females fighting, or when I get my second male, the two males fighting. Is it possible to have a flock of 2 males and 2 females or 1 male and 2 females out together?

I usually have 4 budgies, 2 males and 2 females together during out of cage playtime, sometimes I even let a third pair to join them and have never had any problems nor serious bickerings between them.
When it's time for them to go back to their respective cages things go smoothly too. I house one male/female pair per cage and this works very well for them and me too.

I think it's great you will be getting a new friend for your lonely female!
