Default worried about going away

Me and hubby is going away for a whole week in a few weeks time for our first week full weeks holiday since having the budgies and worried about leaving our four budgies... We have had henry and Eliza for 3 years and loral and hardy we now had a year and half...and they all get on very well together
I got a friend who is going to come in everyday and give them fresh water/food and chat to them..etc..but the last time they didn't speak to us for a day. ( until I gave them a favourite treat a strawberry ..and that was only for a long weekend this time it will be a whole week....
Do you think they will be ok..I do worry about them as there so used to so much attention from me and hubby...mostly from me as I am the one always got the treats..Please help any tips would help Thanks again

With as long as you have had them, and the kind of relationship you've developed, I don't think it will be much of a problem. The longest I have been away from mine is 3 day's and they were fine. Maybe some other's will have some tip's or related experiences to offer....

I know what you are experiencing and it is hard to not stress.
We were away for three weeks and had a family member come and stay whilst we were away. I typed out explicit instructions, left vet's phone number, made sure enough food was available , wrote what other fresh green food to buy and more or less wrote out a daily schedule. Some may think we were overly cautious, but that is how we feel about our birds.
I am lucky in the fact the birds knew and have interacted regularly with my step son as well.

I hope you enjoy your holiday, make sure the person knows and realises that the seed leaves husks behind, I told My son to change the seed regardless of amount in the feed cup every second day to be on the safe side.

I went away for two weeks recently and left my little one with a trusted friend who keeps birds, she was fine. I wrote a in a little notebook everything they needed to know, even though they've had budgies before: how much food, which types of human food is ok and she likes, her bedtime routine, her behavior so they knew if something was up, etc. I called every day and checked up on her, too.

Hope your holiday goes well

Default Thank you

Thank you Jonah, pretty boy and Starlingwings Always greatful for words of support and advice ...I am hoping they will be OK
As they are our little babies as we call them...( As me and hubby can't have children so they are very spoil) They have had a brand new extra large flight cadge and lots of play toys with hddden treats that get changed once a month, plenty of choice of free flight when they want it ( not that there has been much of that since the new cadge) But I think Henry and Eliza mostly henry will notice but the other 2 will be like ( have you been somewhere)
I have done a list and we choose the same person that we had the last time ( even though it was only a long weekend..last time .and we didn't go away last year because of so unsure..but we do need the break.
...And i will be seeing my sister who I was astranged from nearly 20 years ago..( we have found each other again and she has 6 budgies and 2 cockatils
As always I don't know what I'd do with out the support from the Talk budgie forum....Sorry for the long post x

What a wonderful and happy time for you and your sister, I am so happy for you both. What an amazing coincidence she also has birds as well.
I am sure your babies will be fine, enjoy and renew you energy and remember love heals all.
