Having somewhat of a big flock, they always manage to get a big smile or laugh from me.
Yesterday I had Luigi and Goldilocks cage on the dining room and the moment I go in and set my tray on the table I hear Luigi saying his full name and then with his cute voice he lets out a "hello little fellow", this in my native Portuguese language.
It was his way of acknowledging me and I found that really sweet.
My budgie girl Peppy gets the jitters each morning when I am tending to the flock, cleaning changing food/water, etc. She excitedly follows me around and only calms down after I hand feed her a little treat, be it a few loose seed, a piece of carrot or leafy green. It's a 5 minutes ritual that she loves and I'm happy to oblige.
It also warms my heart with joy when my shy boy Tito Junior mimics the made up song his father used to sing, while perched on the cage's bars. Dinda does the made up song more often and I'm happy they both carry out something of their father.
The lovebirds make me laugh on a daily basis too, especially my Penguin with her extremely clownish way and how she loves to lean on her back and sideways when on the cage's floor and to preen/chew her foot/toenails while leaning sideways. I love the way they look when soaking wet and how they look so serious all wet and stiff as a board.
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
