Default My beautiful babies

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited!
I picked 2 beautiful budgies from a breeder yesterday! One is a boy for sure, the other I don't know. Just in case they are a boy and a girl, I made sure they are not related, so that will not be a problem.

The picture I took isn't very good, but I don't want to bother them too much with strange devices. If they've been here for a few days and are more used to the place, I'll might try to take better pictures c:

The violet one (the picture made it seem 'not violet' though) on the left is a boy for sure, the sky blue one is a riddle. In certain light you can see a female cere, and in another light a male one, so I'll just wait and see.

I have a video on that plays 10 hours of budgie sounds and I see it's definitely making them happier and more relaxed haha.
The sky blue one is already eating, and both are preening a whole bit. Both are chirping along loudly with the video haha! So cute. I hope the violet one will eat soon, because the little guy is actually a bit young, so a bit of a challenge, but I have faith it will work out and he'll take the blue one's example c:
But I also of course don't expect much from them the first few days/weeks, since they have to get used to so many new things. Although, the sounds are definitely making them feel at ease and I'm so happy with that!

So that's that! I'll keep you guys updated <3

Congratulations on your two extremely cute baby budgies!

I will refrain from taking a guess at their genders, because the quality of the picture and the fact that I'm unable to have a good look at the ceres make it very difficult to give an accurate answer.

Best of luck with your new little friends!

Thank you!

I made some more pictures. The lighting is always a bit weird with my phone but I think the pictures are alright however.

Sky blue baby

Violet baby

People on a different forum think the sky blue one is a male. It's beginning to look quite definite too if I take a good look at the guy. So two boys then! Or maybe it is a female, ah, I'm not 100% sure, I'll see what you guys think.

The sky blue one looks like a female to me, but I'm not an expert when it comes to gender identification.

We'll see what Ana thinks when she's back on-line as she is VERY good.

I'd say both males. I zoomed into the first picture, and it doesn't look white at all when zoomed in, but does when zoomed out. I'd say you have 2 pretty boys.

The sky spangle is a beautiful little boy
The cobalt yellowface greywing is also a boy, as you guessed.

They are GORGEOUS!! Do they have names yet?

Congratulations

Thank you! It's now definite, both are boys, as the sky's cere right now also looks really definite to me in real life.

Nope, no names yet! They do really need one, because the referring to them in the family is now just 'the purple one'/'the younger one' and 'the blue one' haha.

I have decided the violet/cobalt baby will be called Nooka and the sky blue Indy!

Now I have a quick question, can someone take a guess on how old Indy is?

Close to 3 months... the other is about 2 months ... in my opinion.
