Hello everyone,

For the past 3 days, Bubbles has been the following:
- Very fluffy (a bit more than usual)
- Very adventurous (she will go ANYWERE! (she never wanted to go so far before))
- Not eating (I must add that she is eating but very very very little, except when it is from my hand)
- Always wanting play

I don't know what is going on...

She is also molting. Could this be why all this has happened?

If anyone has any clue, please please give any suggestions.

PS. Can Budgies eat Rye Bread?

Thanks so Much!

Just an update on Bubbles:

She is now not eating at all. Her poop is almost all water.

This morning when I opened her cage, she went strait out and onto my hand.

I am really worried.

*She is not a new budgie, I have had her for almost 2 years now.

Anytime you are concerned about your budgie's health, the best thing you can do is contact your Avian Vet right away.

I would recommend you get Bubbles into your Avian Vet as soon as possible to get the proper diagnosis and treatment for her condition.

I wish you all the best and hope you will provide an update regarding Bubbles in this thread after her appointment.

Hello,

I have looked very many times for an avian vet near me. The closet one is around 1.5hrs away.(In Brisbane, AU)

Have you ever herd something like this before (about the condition)?

Also, we got a new seed packet from my local pet store. This is when Bubbles stopped eating. Could she just not like the seeds and not eat them?

I would say Bubbles does not like the new seed mix, Budgies are very fussy eaters . Can you get some of the same seed mix Bubbles is used to? Bubbles also needs to have a varied diet, seed, pellets, crumbles, green vegies and a small amount of fruits.
Basil, thyme, parsley , corn carrot are a few. As long as Bubbles will eat from your hand keep giving her food. The reason she is flying out and going further is she is hungry and looking for food. Try her on some egg and biscuit mix too this is good for budgies moulting.
