Default New Arrivals and Couple Questions

I am currently the proud owner of two male english budgies around 8 months old. One is a normal sky and the other a sky spangle.
Will receive four more birds next week. Two normal dark green, a light blue clearwing and a light green spangle.
Had planned to get more birds earlier in the summer, but plans changed. Lost out on a great deal of show quality birds. I really felt bad having to cancel my order, especially with all the planning and obvious exitement.
Will eventually attempt to breed them.
Does anybody know what the ideal humidity level is for english budgies?
During winter it gets very dry here in Minnesota. I have a humidifier.
Perhaps this is trivial, but still curious.
Also I was told breeding two spangles or spangle and clearwing is not a good idea. Offspring will not be as "clean" looking. Does this mean they will not be a good representation of their color mutation?
Thank you!

Congratulations on your new additions! I can't wait to see them

As for humidity, I would put one on, just to keep everything sort of consistent. English budgies don't generally need anything different than American budgies, but since it's dry during the winter it's good to have one on.

Yes, not "clean" or "poorly marked" means that they aren't a good representation of the color mutation. Generally spangles should have clean cut, un-blurred lines and clearwings should have an even shade of pale grey on the wings, sometimes if you breed within the mutation too much (spangle x spangle) the mutation is "repeated" and turns out not so "clean". Clearwing x spangle can cause the same phenomenon because the clearwing gene and the spangle gene affect each other.

I think that's generally the case, does that make sense?
