Default Right eye not opening?

Hello,

This morning when I took the towels of Bubbles, I said hello, and cleaned everything including her water, tray and replaced the seed.

But then when I went over to her after breakfast, I noticed that her right eye was shut... I thought this was because she was just resting, but then somehow I just noticed that something was wrong.

She just keeps her right eye shut, unless something like a loud noise near her, and I don't know what it up with her.

Could she just have over slept that eye?

Thanks

Get some sterile saline solution and rinse her eye with it.
If there is a foreign particle in the eye, the saline will rinse it out without harming her in any way.

Please let us know how she's doing.

I would take her straight to an avian vet. The same thing happened Noah once and it turned out he had a very serious viral infection at the back of his eye called uveitis which if left untreated would have caused him to lose his eye. The thing with birds is that they will never show you they are sick unless it's already at an advanced stage and they really can't hide it anymore. This is a natural protective instinct they have so that they don't get pushed out or picked on by other flock members.
The eye should not be closed like that.

Thank you so much for your fast responses!

I have been keeping an eye on her and it seems to have gone already...

She is the same ol' fluffy birdy she was before.

I think she just had a little sore eye.

Thanks, I will keep your responses in mind for the future!

Anytime a budgie's eye seems irritated, the first thing to do is to rinse it out with a saline solution, the same way you would if it was your eye.

If that doesn't relieve the problem in a couple of hours time, then it is always best to contact your Avian Vet.

Ok, Do you know how I can make this at home, or do I have to buy it from a pet store?

You can buy it at a pharmacy in the eye-care section.
It is simply sterile saline solution for eyes and should be a part of your Birdie First Aid Kit.

This is just one example of a sterile saline solution:
