Default Identification please??

Hi all,

I am only new to this & have x14 gorgeous budgies! Each & everyone of them are so different in colour & personalities! I just love them!

I was lucky enough to have a pair of mine hatch a gorgeous Lacewing. She is now a mother of what I believe is a Creamino. She has now had another baby hatch & I am puzzled to what variation it may be. It is mostly white, with bits of yellow, blue, green & yellow on its back near tail, starting to get purple cheeks with red eyes. Its father may possibly be an Opaline.....but not sure. I will attach a few pics.
If anyone can help me, I would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Hi and Welcome

Very gorgeous budgies you have

Baby is showing colour on her rump therefore I am doubtful she is fallow and her mother too

Lacewings have 100% diluted body donít show that much colour on their rump

According to these pictures my guess the baby is Yf Cobalt Spangle German Fallow

To know the exact mutation please post clear pictures after reading these instruction in this thread https://talkbudgies.com/mutations-gen...tion-help.html

Pictures and details of this pair their parents and their parents will conclude every thing

Thank you Chirper!

I was told by someone from a rare budgie association that the mother is a lacewing, but she does have the tiniest bit of green on her back. I will need to get a better pic of her which is so difficult to get as she is very flighty.
I have never seen a budgie with coloured markings & red eyes....so the info you have provided me helps so much! Thank you! I really appreciate it.

I just went down & took the best pics I could of the mother's parents, the mother & father of my new baby budgie in question, her daughter from her last clutch (creamino?). The image of the older pair (mother's parents) isn't the best as she is now sitting on her possibly 10th clutch of eggs with a baby which hatched a few days ago

Apologies if the images are confusing!
I'll put them in order:
1st & 2nd image are the parents of the mother Lacewing (if she is a lacewing lol) Mother is the Purple budgie (on left) & father is green & yellow Opaline??? on right.

3nrd image is the daughter of the purple budgie & green/yellow father, thought to be a lacewing at first?? She is on the right hand side, father is in the middle & baby to the left corner.

4th image is the face of mother of baby in question. She is so difficult to get a proper image of!

5th image is the same "family" you just might be able to see the father abit better (he is now on the right, baby in the middle & mother in the right corner). Hope these pics help!

Thanks again!

Hi Marty

Fallow is a recessive mutation see this link Fallow Budgies - Cute Little Birdies Aviary

Lacewing is sex-linked mutation see this link Lacewing Budgies - Cute Little Birdies Aviary

To differentiate between fallow and lacewing mutations see this link Lacewing And Fallow - Cute Little Birdies Aviary

In picture # 4 the cheek patch clearly shows she is a German fallow

Therefore in my opinion

Grand pa = Light green opaline/German fallow

Grand ma = Cobalt normal/German fallow

Mother = Light green opaline German fellow/Blue

Father = YF or Gf Cobalt Spangle/German fallow (where that came from having fallow gene?)

Baby = Yf or Gf Cobalt Spangle German Fallow

You are most welcome
