Hi there welcome to talk budgies... It does take a long time to get your budgies to trust you you have to build up a bond with them. You can talk to them.. You can try to have a spray of Millet in your hand and slowly put your hand in the cage to see if they will go to your hand to eat the Millet.... But there are a lot of other people on here that can help you out....

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Firstly well done on adopting your two budgies, it usually takes longer for two new birds to settle rather than just the one newcomer because if one bird is spooked then it automatically scares the other bird.
Also please remember that not only do they have to get used to you but there are a host of new things to see, new smells and of course sounds that will seem normal to you but are totally alien to your birds, visitors to your home and any other pets you may have are all new experiences to your feathered friends so please don't worry too much, spend time with them and reassure them, they will settle once they realise they are in a safe environment, patience is paramount and your birds will learn to trust and love you.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

It takes a long time for some budgies to get the courage to venture out of their cage. Have you tried to tame them? You can help them to trust you more by putting your hand in the cage every day for a few minutes and talking to them in a soft voice, soon they will see that they can trust you and will be more likely to come out of the cage. Also, never try to force them to come out, they should want to come out on their own. You can buy or make a playgym or put some perches and toys outside the cage to entice them to come out

I'm sure with time they will learn to love coming out! I look forward to seeing pictures of your little birds and it's great to have you with us

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask as we'd love to help

mine are just finally coming out of their cage, and that's after hanging out for hours with them with the door open and millet hanging off the door next to a perch.. just doing my own thing hoping they get the courage! each time they come out it takes less and less time for them to come out and I don't even have the millet hanging anymore! Just be patient with them, earn their trust and I'm sure they will be flying around in no time!
