Hi the nice budgie family. I'm new here and very happy to join the forum. I bought two weeks ago two babies budgie (according to the seller). But as they are young We can't tell the sex. Can you help sexing them?
She is still a girl.
Your budgies are still in the process of settling in their new home and environment, so it's natural for them both to be more quiet (girls can sing too).
If you want to encourage singing/chirping you can turn the radio or TV on and they will soon respond to it. Budgies love background noise. You can also play videos of budgies singing from Youtube.
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
Thanks. Since I bought them I always keep my radio on. Sometimes and almost every day I play other budgies noise for them. Terry is very quiet. Most of the time it's Tina who sings. Sometimes they are like nervous when hearing these musics. They will kiss ruthlessly try to bite each other, jump on another perch, kiss again. Is it normal? Because that scares me. I don't want them to fight or bite each other.
Marta Solvani, a lover & breeder of budgies, also said she played music for her babies and though nervous at first, she got over it and the budgies seemed to enjoy it also. She said at first, her two birds seemed to fight but really weren't. Apparently, they were just over ecstatic because of the music. Isn't that delightful?
