Default Is it possible that my budgie knew I was pregnant?

I know it sounds crazy!

I was just reading an article about dogs detecting cancer, it made me think about when I was pregnant, unfortunately It ended in miscarriage. But before I even found out Charlies behavior changed, he used to bite anyone that tried to kiss him/touch him and he was ALWAYS following me around and sitting on my head, he made me miss a train because he wouldn't let me out of the front door. He even charged at my boyfriend just for putting his hand on me he used to fly down the stairs when I came home too

But nowadays he doesn't seem to be all loved up to me like he was for that time. He isn't aggressive and he lets me kiss him and stuff but he is definitely not been that "in love" with me before.

Strange :s

How is it possible that an animal that small (but cute) can know?

I say anything is possible, he may of been able to smell the hormonal changes in your body and was reacting to them as a mate would... So sorry for your loss of the baby

Many animals have very heightened senses which are much more acute and attuned than that of homo sapiens.

Your budgie likely did know you were pregnant and decided it was his job to "protect" you during that time.
I'm sorry for your loss.

Wow, just how amazing are our fellow creatures with whom we share this planet! And how sad that us humans so often underestimate them.

Thank you so much for sharing your touching experience, and I'm very sorry for your loss.x

It can be totally possible, just like dogs that not only know about the pregnancy but also becomes the defender of the mom and later when born the baby, I lived that first handed so I wont be surprise if budgies do the same, he became your protector so cute and I'm sorry about the pregnancy.
