This is my 3 year old 'tiny' little boy Twigs, and my almost 6 month old big baby girl Mink
. Twigs is a pet type budgie, and Mink is English.
They have been together in the same cage for months now, and while they sit sort of near each other all the time, they never sit side by side or touch. They look like an "odd couple" anyway... they almost don't look the same species lol. He's tiny with big eyes, and she's... well, English
Today, I was watching tv, and farther in the distance in the next room is their cage. I had to put my glasses on to make sure what I was seeing, but I think they were really kissing today! Strange to me though, it was Mink the juvenile female who was making regurgitating motions with her neck (I can tell she wasn't feeding him, just the motion) and Twigs the adult male was just sitting there without any neck motions and they were touching beaks. Maybe Mink was pretending to be an adult, and Twigs was going 'okay whatever'
. When mature, do both male and female feed each other?
I just hope that Twigs doesn't get any more attracted to Mink cause I do not want eggs or hormonal craziness with Mink! Twigs was super bonded to his male friend Pix who passed away a year ago. Maybe he feels that Pix was his true love, and he can never feel that way about any bird again
LOL, because he's never acted crazy about Mink although he sings and calls for a partner with her sitting right there haha. Maybe he kissed her thinking "oh well, this big 'different looking' kid is better than nothing"
