https://<iframe width="480" height="3...ow/"></iframe>Hi, We are new here. This is our baby that is about 8 weeks old now. We think he is a boy. Not sure. Also, he has two tone feathers on his chest, you can see them best when they were coming out in his baby picture taken outside in the sun on the plant. The pictures are of various ages with the two on the hand being the lastest. He is the sweetest bird that just wants to be with the family every minute. We hand fed him so guess that is why.

To familiarize yourself with the forums, please take the time to read through all of the How To Guides, the FAQs and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.
You'll find most of your basic questions are answered after you've read through all of them.
I'm looking forward to hearing all about your budgie and hopefully seeing some pictures soon!!
To sex a budgie you should look at the crest above its beak and if it is a brown colour it is girl
if it is blue it is a boy, you can always take it to a local vet or pet shop.
hope this helps anyone?
Not always as simple as this! But covers the basics lol
I think we have a sticky on sex identification with some pictures that may help
If the budgie is young (under four months - you can usually tell by the black bars on the top of the head) The male's will be a purplish pinky colour, and the girls will be light blue often with whitish rings around its nares. As an adult the male will have a dark blue cere, the female when she is out of breeding condition will have a light blue, and in breeding condition will have a brownish "crusty" look
Pictures will be needed for the colour id!
