Give her more time and love and she will have no choice but to give it back :-)
I believe mine adapted faster because of my wife.
She's a housewife and I told her to keep him as company whatever she is doing.
And I also spend about 2-3 hours a day with him.
So there's always someone around for him and I guess that helped greatly.
I also made constant effort to make him know that we are someone who cares for him. In the initial days I made sure he is looking when I'm changing water, cleaning and changing seed trays. They need to know you bring food, water for them and no harm.
It's a wonderful feeling to have them out. He's got so blended in, sometimes I forget that he's out!
