I have not been on nearly enough! About 4 weeks ago I started a second job to help out a good friend of mine. Its not much, but like I said it was to help her and we have a lot of fun. I am now making pizzas at a pizza shop 3-4 nights a week on top of nursing full time!! How exhausting! Kiwi and Aztec are doing well, and are very healthy and chirpy! I do feel however they are not happy with me not being home as much! When I am home I leave the cage door open for them to fly around and they very rarely come out I hope we didn't take too many steps backwards on the trust thing.. they still will take millet from my hand but I thought for sure I would have them stepping up by now.. at least they have eachother!
Sound's like a pretty busy schedule, and most of the time I can relate. I couldn't make pizza's though....it would be make one, eat one....make one, eat one....they'd fire me pretty quick....
we make a "crew pizza" each shift to snack on.. and at least once a week I bring home a large pizza to the family.. so they love me having this job haha.. guess its my payment to them for helping me with the fids..
They have gotten the schedule down pretty well! I leave early in the morning so to allow Kiwi and Aztec their beauty rest I will uncover and give them fresh seed, turn the tv on their favorite music station but leave it on mute. All they have to do when it is time is turn my light on and turn up the tunes.. and at night when I work late just the opposite then I cover the cage when I get home
How many extra hours are you working each evening and how long are you going to keep up this schedule?
I know it must be tiring for you.
lately it has been 6-10 Monday and Thursday and 5-10 Friday (every other Friday since I have girl scouts the others..) and Saturday! And from what I hear my nursing schedule will be changing from starting at 8 to starting at 630.. but then I will be out by 230/3 rather than 430/5. But the way I see it.. pizza money is extra money! I have had my eye on some bigger cages or at least the stand that the cage I have now could have come with!
I got the cage stand today! I was able to set it up next to a shelf where the ninja gym set up is beginning!! the girls seemed unhappy at first as the cage is lower to the ground.. but they will get used to it.. now it will be easier for me to clean and cover! .. and I can have my dresser back, for now play gym will prob take over that too!
