Default New Cresteds :D

Hello all !

I finally gave in to temptation and got these two beauties yesterday.
I have been eyeing crested budgies for years and am really happy with these two .

Even though their appearance makes them look clumsy , they are quite accomplished fliers and have no trouble moving around.

They are TINY compared to my other budgies . Hopefully a good diet and some room to exercise will improve their feather condition and overall health. I am hoping they gain some weight.

Introducing
'Sasuke'

and

'Sakura'

Those of you who watch anime might get the Naruto references .

I love their "bangs" hairstyle, how cute! I was just looking at pics of crested budgies the other day, and for the first time I saw the variety like yours that also has swirls on the body feathers. Very unique .

Congratulations on your new budgies, they're beautiful!
The names are quite fitting given the fact they are Japanese helicopter budgies!

A good diet really does wonders when it comes to improving feather quality and the budgie's overall health and physical condition.
Goldilocks, my latest budgie acquisition also came to me with poor feather condition. Through a diet appropriate to her needs and lots of egg food within 6 months I started to notice a good improvement after her first moult while under my care.
One year after getting Goldilocks and two moults later, her feather quality is now perfect and in par with the rest of the budgie flock.

Congratulations, they're lovely! Definitely won't see budgies like that every day

The names are very fitting, as Aluz said

I'm quite curious about their genetics and how crests/scarves? will be passed on .

I might decide to breed them in the future.
I have heard about the crested gene being lethal in it Double factor form . There is so much conflicting info on this.

At least there is something regarding normal crests . There is absolutely nothing online in connection to this particular variation .

They are absolutely stunning! I am sure they will be even prettier after some time in your home Maybe you can ask your breeder how you can breed them in the future.
