Question Quarantine time?

Hi
My friends are giving me their budgie as they are getting a young one to train and I needed another male for my aviary (excited!).
Last time I got new birds I kept them separate from my ones for the quarantine time before introducing them.
If my friends haven't noticed any changes in his behaviour do you think I still need to keep him in quarantine before introducing him to my budgies?
Thanks in advance

Hi there!

If I were in your shoes, for my flock's safety I would still quarantine the budgie for 1 month before properly introducing him to my flock.
Even despite your friends not noticing any red flags, it's always best for us to see for ourselves the condition the budgie is in.

Another thought - he has been on his own for months and hasn't had contact with other birds.
Does that make a difference to the need for quarantine?
Thanks
