Default A rude Sunday Awakening

Good afternoon from Britain

This morning me and my boyfriend were woken up with a start! My budgie Pepi has a bathing/nesting box on the outside of his cage. He never uses it, never seemed at all interested in it. Well, this morning he must of decided to have a little look inside.

Theres a small opening on the cage that is usually for a food try but my nan lost the closing plug thing so I got the box to make sure he does not accidently escape! This morning Pepi decided to have a little look inside this box. We were woken up by his panicked squarking and banging around!

The poor ****** had gotten stuck inside and could not for the life of him figure out how to get out! I got up and uncovered him to see him looking at me as if too say "Mum I got stuck! Help!" I opened the main door and slide the box to it and he flew in. No damage is done and he just looked embaressed, if birds can ever feel that haha.

Hope everyones Sunday has/will be a good one

Proof that these inquisitive, mischievous but loveable little birds can sometimes get themselves into quite a predicament given half a chance, I'm sorry your Sunday morning slumber was interrupted but at least your Pepi is OK , though possibly shaken and most definitely embarrassed.

Rehoming from my cousin who can no longer give her the love and attention all pets deserve. I love your signiture pic! So beautiful!

He was in total panic mode! Never seen him like that before bless him. He looked at me through the box with such a cute face. I had to giggle!

I'm sure Pepi is looking forward to meeting his new lady friend but I'm sure you aware of the necessity to quarantine the new arrival for a period of no less than 4 weeks, that means the two birds must be kept in separate rooms as far away as possible from each other, care must also be taken with handling each bird for instance thoroughly washing your hands in between handling each bird, the birds should have their own food dishes etc, all of this is important for a minimum of 4 weeks to make sure the new bird doesn't pass anything nasty to Pepi or visa versa.

Oh of course yes I made sure to read alot of the sticky notes on this site and others about getting a new bird. Pepi is in my room most of the day unless I am in the living room, then I put him on his stand so he can be nosey and see what I am doing. The new lady I am yet to figure out where she will go. Most likly in the living room on Pepi's stand as Pepi is on top of my bookshelf. Means they can hear eachother but be safe enough distance between them for the quarantined

I am so excited! Mum is picking her up as she is nearer to where my cousin lives in Oxford and then bringing her to my flat

So far I only have a small video to go by. She seems to be white and grey, but the quality and lighting could be hiding her true colours.

Silly bird! Sounds like he was in a bit of hot water

I can't wait to meet Pepi's little lady! When they share a cage, remember to take boxes like that out so she doesn't get broody

What's her name?
